1st Place - Queso Blanco with Chiles and Epazote Milky, clean flavor. Fresh, moist. This traditional Mexican Cheese crumbles easily. Softens but does not melt when heated. Flavored with zippy green chiles and refreshing epazote herbs. Hand-formed discs. .50 lb balls.
2nd Place - Queso Menonina with Jalapenos A distinctive artisanal cow's milk cheese with a rich buttery flavor that evokes a bold nuttiness with garden fresh mild jalapeno. .50 lb pieces
3rd Place - Deep Ellum Blue An earthy and complex cheese with a moldy blue exterior. Robust flavor and creamy, supple texture. "A blue cheese for people who don't like blue cheese." Aged at least 6 weeks. .50 lb pieces.
3rd Place - Queso Panela The cheese has a mild, fresh flavor with a slightly salty undertone. It's often used in Mexican cuisine for dishes like enchiladas, tacos, and salads because it holds its shape when heated, rather than melting. Its texture is somewhat similar to that of Indian paneer. .60 lb pieces
